The Project:

Reliable station doors and a thorough maintenance contract is a must to ensure that crews are available to respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day.

HAG were tasked over the summer with fitting Q Doors to 4 of their fire stations, which provide a high level of thermal insulation, long term cost savings, security and cosmetically enhances the look of the building.

This is a flexible bi-folding product, for example, if there were space restrictions, we have the ability to fit them externally thus giving more room in the actual appliance bays.  There are several options to make your Q Door bespoke to your particular needs, for example insulated double glazed windows within the door panels, the colour, and manual or electric operation.

The Q Doors sealing system complies with top European requirements, and still met them at 3 times the required test pressure! (The top European class 3 for air leakage describes air leakage (T Value) as at best 1.5m3/m2/h at 50 Pa pressure. i.e. 1.5m3/m2/h to 150 Pa).

HAG is continuing to provide regular maintenance and keep the door working well and enabling the customer to meet its legal obligations.

New cooperation between Garageportexperten and Torverk Industrial Doors

Garageportexperten is expanding its focus on industrial doors and a collaboration with Torverk Industrial Doors will be initiated. The fact that the choice fell on Torverk was a natural decision, as Garageportexperten wants to invest in a strong partner who offers quality to their customers.

– It feels good with such an established and experienced partner as Torverk. We have extensive operations in large parts of the country, so it is extra important that we choose a supplier with experience and quality, says Mikael Holmstrand, CEO, Garageportexperten.

Torverk’s CEO Peter Löfvenholm is also pleased with the collaboration.

The thieves were stopped by Torverk door

Torverks slagport

Food Open in Bro had the night of 19 January a burglar attempt, the thieves tried to force the door with crowbars and get in via the warehouse entrance.

The merchant Håkan Redig who runs food openly in Bro says that “thanks to a good door from Torverk, the thieves couldn’t get in, even though two of the thieves broke together with a crowbar”.

It was hardly a mark on the door, continues Håkan. Considering, among other things, the deductible, I am very grateful that the door worked as well as it did.

The door that Håkan bought in the summer of 2017 was a punch gate that was, in addition to a stable standard construction, reinforced with one, among other things, a strong break protection.

Had it been my old door the thieves had easily forced it and it had cost me a lot of trouble and money, Håkan continues.

We at Torverk naturally think that the event is boring in itself but glad that the door worked in a real location.

Emergency services in Torsby – satisfied with 30-year-old doors

Torverk Rescue Service – 30 year old gates

Torsby Municipality Freshes The gates of emergency services in Torsby with expert help from Torverk Industrial Doors AB.

When the emergency services in the gates of Torsbys began to look worn out after long and faithful service, contact with Torverk was made to see what options existed when it came to freshen up the facade of the building.

The options presented for decision after a thorough discussion between the municipality’s purchaser and the Torverk salesman Lars-Inge Carlsson was: replace the gates to new ones from the kilns, renovate existing ports or switch to new ports from another supplier. After a discussion round, it was decided to renovate existing doors. Since these sat up more than 30 years, it was decided that they would be repainted and existing seals would be replaced. The machinery designed for at least 2.6 million openings could continue to be used for servicing and maintenance according to the Torverk maintenance program.

After instructions from Torverk the Construction Department, the work started to repaint the doors. The seals, however, require some other skills which meant that assemblers from Torverk stepped in and performed that job. The final result can only be regarded as more than acceptable.

The doors were assembled in April 1985 and if you consider that these doors have a few years on the neck, it should be a proof as good as anything that the doors from the Torverk are built to last.

Stf. Rescue manager in Torsby municipality Johan Westh is very pleased with the results and says further that:

These doors have worked flawlessly for many years, but started to look worn out and we thought it should be done something about it. Since the building is otherwise in good condition and because there was no fault on the doors, we were determined that they would be renovating, which in retrospect can be said to be a good decision both environmentally and economically.

Conclusion

It may be worth thinking about for others in the same situation, it is not certain that the ports need to be replaced, contact us at Torverk Industrial Doors AB for an evaluation, we promise a solution that is both economical and sustainable for the future.
