Security-rated folding door

A Vault for Your Business

Torverk''s burglary-resistant doors meet the Swedish Theft Prevention Association''s standards for burglary protection (SSF 1074, SK2, and SK3). These closely match the internationally recognized Resistance Classes EN1627 RC3 and RC4, providing you with globally trusted levels of security.

This means our doors comply with insurance requirements for perimeter protection, so your coverage stays valid in case of a break-in.

Our security-rated doors offer the same high insulation performance as our standard models, helping to lower your heating costs and reduce your carbon footprint.

Over Half of All Industries Experience Break-Ins

When the industry organization Företagarna surveyed 819 companies about break-ins in the past five years, 61% of industrial businesses answered "YES."

If you have valuable assets, insurance companies require burglary-proof perimeter protection. Doors must be approved according to the Swedish Theft Prevention Association''s standards SK1, SK2, or SK3—otherwise, your insurance won''t cover break-ins.

Consult your insurance provider to understand the requirements specific to your business.

Stop Break-Ins and Save Energy

The security door features the same sandwich construction as our standard folding doors, but with reinforced door panels.

The outer shell is roll-formed from 0.6 mm thick corrosion-resistant SSAB steel and reinforced at the corners with 4 mm hardened DOMEX steel.

Next, we fill the panel with polyurethane foam under a pressure of 4.5 bar. The foam expands, penetrates every cavity, and chemically bonds with the steel and end profiles.

When the foam cures, it becomes as hard as a hockey puck and provides insulation four times more effective than standard building insulation.

Reinforced Hinges for Torverk’s Security-Rated Folding Door

Reinforced Hinges

The hinges resist hacksaws, jigsaws, drills, hand hammers, and punches, forcing burglars to give up.

Security Glass in Torverk’s Burglary-Resistant Folding Door

Armoured glass

Multiple layers of glass are laminated together with a strong and flexible plastic film, making the glass highly resistant to impact and penetration. It keeps burglars out while letting light in.

Secure Locking Mechanism on Torverk’s Security-Rated Folding Door

Pick-Resistant Locking Mechanism

If a burglar manages to pick the lock, the door is considered forced. However, Torverk''s locking mechanism withstands all axe strikes and drill attacks.

Choose from Thousands of Colors

Choose from 10 standard colors or paint your door in any RAL or NCS S shade.

If you want a pattern or image on your door, we print it on a film that is applied to the surface. We''ve produced doors with wood grain and a wide range of other designs.

Hinges must be welded to the wall.

  • Can open inward or outward.

  • May include windows and a pedestrian door.

  • Must be equipped with a padlockable espagnolette, even if motorized.
  • Maximum height of 6000 mm and width up to 14 meters for motorized doors or 25 meters for manual doors.

    What Do SK1, SK2, and SK3 Mean?

The Swedish Theft Prevention Association (SSF) has developed a burglary protection standard called SSF 1074. This standard sets security requirements for products and systems used to prevent break-ins. An industrial door classified as SK3 meets the security requirements defined by SSF 1074 SK3.

Testing is carried out by testing institutes such as RISE in Borås. They are allowed to use a specific set of tools and have a set time limit to try to break through the door. To achieve a higher security class, the door must withstand more powerful tools for a longer period.

The SK classification corresponds closely with the international EN resistance classes, providing a reliable measure of burglary protection that aligns with widely recognized standards.

    SK1 Industrial Doors

SK1 is the lowest security class. It provides basic protection against unauthorized access and is usually sufficient for areas assessed to have a low risk of burglary.

To achieve SK1 classification, the door must withstand a 5-minute attack on all accessible parts using simple tools such as:

    • Pliers
    • Screwdriver
    • Knife
    • Rubber mallet

    Comparable EN Standard:

SK1 roughly corresponds to EN 1627 Resistance Class RC1, which covers basic burglary resistance against opportunistic attacks with simple tools.

    SK2 Industrial Doors

SK2 doors are designed to provide strong protection against burglary and are used in locations where the risk of break-ins is elevated due to valuable assets or where a break-in would have serious consequences.

To achieve SK2 classification, the door must withstand a 5-minute attack on all accessible parts, with the burglar allowed to use all tools permitted under SK1 plus:

    • Crowbar
    • Handsaw
    • Hammer
    • Hand drill

Our security door meets SK2 requirements, even when equipped with windows and a pedestrian door.

    Comparable EN Standard:

SK2 roughly corresponds to EN 1627 Resistance Class RC3, which defines security requirements against sustained attacks using similar tools for doors and windows.

    SK3 Industrial Doors

SK3 is the highest security class for industrial doors and is intended for locations where the risk of burglary is very high or where the consequences of a break-in are particularly severe. These properties may contain highly valuable items or sensitive information.

To achieve SK3 classification, the door must withstand a 10-minute attack on all accessible parts using the same tools as in SK2, plus heavier tools such as:

    • Axe
    • Battery-powered drill
    • Bolt cutters
    • Hand hammer

Our security door meets SK3 requirements when equipped without windows or pedestrian doors.

    Comparable EN Standard:

SK3 corresponds closely to EN 1627 Resistance Class RC4, which sets higher security standards involving more sustained attacks and heavier tools for doors and windows.

How RISE in Borås Tested Torverk’s Security-Rated Doors:

RISE in Borås Tests SSF 1074 Security Classification of Folding Doors

    Searching for Weaknesses…

In a workshop at RISE in Borås, two engineers are reviewing the drawings of a Torverk security door.

They''re searching for weaknesses in the design.

Armed with crowbars, axes, drills, and other tools, they will attempt to breach every part of the door. For each attack attempt, they have 10 minutes.

If they succeed, the door fails the test.

RISE testing burglary resistance in a folding door from Torverk

    First Attack: The Door Panel

They start chopping the door panel with an axe.

They manage to create a small hole, then pry it open with a crowbar and try to get through the reinforcement using bolt cutters.

After ten minutes, the hole is still too small, so they move on to attacking the hinges instead.

    Then The Hinges

Sweating, they take turns sawing through the hinge pins with a hacksaw and jigsaw.

After ten minutes, a small notch appears, which they pry open with a crowbar and try to wedge with nails.

When that fails, they use a drill on the screw heads and hinge fittings—with no success.

In a final effort, they try to knock out the hinge pin using a hand hammer and punch.

    But they come up empty-handed.

RISE testing the glass of a resistance classed folding door from Torverk

    … Glass

The engineers don''t bother smashing the laminated glass with a hammer, they know it can''t be broken that way.

Instead, they pry around the entire window frame with a crowbar but fail to breach it within the SK2 time limit.

RISE testing the espagnolette on a resistance classed folding door from Torverk

    … and the espagnolette

In a final desperate attempt, they saw with a hacksaw and pry with a knife at the bottom to reach the espagnolette.

They chop with an axe and forcefully pry with a crowbar and bolt cutters at the top edge of the door. Then they try to drill through the espagnolette rod.

But time runs out, and the door passes the test.
