Since 1962, Torverk has delivered folding doors to emergency services across Sweden and abroad. Organizations where a malfunctioning door could cost lives.

Industrial operations may not face the same stakes, but the financial impact of a halted production line can be just as severe.

We’ve never set out to build the cheapest door on the market. But today, many of our customers say that’s exactly what we’ve done—because a door that keeps working, year after year, ends up being the most affordable one.

In 2018, a fire station in Stockholm experienced multiple break-ins. One of their old doors no longer closed fully, and thieves slipped through the gap to steal battery-powered rescue tools. After switching to 13 new folding doors from Torverk, the break-ins stopped, and the improved insulation meant they even had to turn the heat down.

Built to Last, Layer by Layer

Each door panel is formed from 0.6 mm corrosion-protected SSAB steel, precision-rolled into a rigid, torsion-resistant structure.

Inside, we inject high-pressure polyurethane foam at 4.5 bar. The foam expands into every cavity and bonds chemically with the metal and end profiles, forming a solid sandwich construction.

Once cured, the foam becomes as hard as a hockey puck, and four times more insulating than standard home insulation. Millions of gas-filled microcells prevent heat from transferring through the door.

Corner reinforcements are made from 4 mm hardened DOMEX steel. Extremely sturdy.

The metal sheet is bent into a wave pattern to optimize torsional rigidity.

The exterior cladding uses 0,6 mm thick biobased-coated SSAB GreenCoat sheet metal, rated C5 for corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.

In 2019, a truck workshop replaced seven of its doors with Q-Door FX. The next year, their district heating consumption dropped by 90,000 kWh.

And since proper insulation requires a robust build, the U-value is also an indirect measure of durability and reliability.

EPDM rubber seals keep the door tightly sealed, even in hurricane-force winds.

Storm-Proof Sealing

We’ve developed our own heavy-duty EPDM rubber seals that stay flexible even in low temperatures. They won’t shrink or crack over time.

Two of our doors operate at a research station in Antarctica, where salt-laden winds reach 120 km/h. It took 20 years before the floor seals needed replacement.

Locking Options

Electric doors don’t require mechanical locking, since the motor’s linkage keeps the door shut by design.

But if you need additional perimeter security, we offer:

Electrical shut-off when locked

Save energy with a pedestrian door

If people regularly pass through your door, a pedestrian door saves both time and energy—there’s no need to open the entire door for one person.

Torverk’s pedestrian doors come with a standard height of 2050 mm and can be equipped with various locking options, door closers, anti-tamper protection, and windows. For motorized doors, a door sensor is installed to automatically lock the pedestrian door when the main door opens.

Robust hinges with minimal friction

In Torverk’s standard hinges, the hinge pin rests on a ball made of ultra-hardened steel. This reduces the contact surface between the pin and the ball, minimizing friction and wear.

In the 1990s, a customer complained that their floor seals were wearing out too quickly. So we invented hinges that lift the door one centimeter before it opens. This prevents the seals from dragging on the ground, helping them last much longer.

Motor System – Tested for 1 Million Cycles

Q-Door FX can be powered by Torverk’s own weatherproof motor, tested for over 1 million opening cycles. The motor can be top- or side-mounted, depending on your available space.

For wider doors (up to 14.5 m), we offer our new linear drive system—a robust and space-efficient alternative that maintains the same reliability.

Automation, Access & Safety

A Torverk door can be fully automated to streamline logistics and reduce energy loss.

You can control it using radar, remote control, pull cords, push buttons, SMS apps, and a wide range of other triggers. Access can be managed with keys, card readers, or entry codes. The possibilities are virtually endless.

Customizable access control system

Choose the access control system that best suits your operation. Tag readers work well for residential complexes, but in high-traffic industrial settings, automated opening with radar or a simple pull cord is often a better option.

Photocell that detects if something is in the way of the door

Multiple layers of safety

A door should never cause harm. That’s why Torverk doors come standard with pinch protection, finger guards, load sensors, and photocells. The photocell detects if something obstructs the door and signals the control unit to reverse its movement.

For even greater safety, you can add radar sensors, induction loops, additional photocells, and warning lights.

Open/close functions

A Torverk door can be controlled and automated in many different ways to optimize logistics and reduce energy loss.

It can be operated using radar, remote control, pull cords, push buttons, SMS app control, and a wide range of other activation devices.

Security-Rated Versions: SK2 & SK3

For high-security operations, we offer certified folding doors in SK2 and SK3 classifications.

SK2: Can be equipped with windows and pedestrian doors
SK3: Highest level of protection; no windows or pedestrian doors

All models are tested and certified by RISE and meet Sweden’s toughest burglary resistance standards.
