Newly Installed Electric Folding Door in Truck Workshop

These two folding doors were installed around the turn of the year 2024–25 at Entrack''''s workshop in Karlstad. The video was recorded a month later, when the spring sun started to appear, to show what an opening-and-closing cycle looks like for an electric folding door from Torverk.

Details That Build Operational Reliability and Durability

Two electric folding doors, Q-Door FX

The doors are four meters wide and five meters high. Both open inward and include pedestrian doors so the staff don’t have to open the entire door for foot traffic. With doors that open inward you avoid problems opening the door when there is heavy snow outside in winter. The dimensions are generous to allow large vehicle combinations to pass into the workshop.

Well-sealed and Insulated Doors and Windows

The windows and pedestrian doors have aluminum frames with a thermal break to maximize the door''''''''s insulation capacity. The mid-panel height (distance from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the window) is 750 mm, and the windows measure 500 × 1200 mm.

All gaskets/seals are made of EPDM rubber, which has the property of staying soft and sealing well even in a cold climate. Between the hinges vertically you see black tubular clamping guards.

Safety and Anti-pinch Protection

A photocell mounted next to the door immediately interrupts the closing motion if someone or something is in the way.

Above the pedestrian door there is a small flashing plate fastened to prevent rain and precipitation from penetrating into the structure.

The gas-insulated energy panes have aluminum frames with thermal breaks. This gives efficient insulation.

From the inside you can see that the door has the motor mounted above the door, and to the left you see the control cabinet with an open/close button. The small orange box with an antenna is the receiver for the remote control, which allows vehicles outside to remotely control the door. On the far left of the door is a black EPDM rubber pinch guard.

High Personal Safety

On the inside of the pedestrian door there is a pedestrian door switch that senses whether the door is open or closed. If the pedestrian door is opened while the folding door is operating, the folding door stops.

At the bottom, the door is secured by heavy bolts welded into the frame.
